Well, I [STRIKE]have[/STRIKE]had :( three tracked nerite snails. Well I have not seen any of the three in a couple days so I went searching today. I searched under the couch, and chair... nothing. I went to the back of the tank and whala found one in the tank. None under the stand. Well I decided to check out the one in the tank, and move it to the front if needed. Well. the shell was empty :( I had seen this particular nerite just two days ago, looking just fine and eating away. I have no idea what took the little guy. and I have no idea where the other two are. The parameters are perfect, 0 Ammonia, 0 nitrite, Normal temps 78.6* and Nitrate is at the same 10 it always is. I have had these guys for around 8 months with no probs. Im a sad panda today.

Awww there there. My Zebra Nerite that I had received from a friend in Erie died couple days ago. Mine probably died of hunger, though I'm starting to grow some algae since adding more light xD, guess not fast enough. I think yours are probably lost somewhere in your tank, have you tried the FILTER? i found one of mine in the filter one time.

I keep their shells... I tell you don't bleach the shelled, it fades the color -___-

I have mesh over my filter intakes due to baby shrimp, so I am positive that they are not in the filter. I have not seen the other two nerites for quite a while. I used to see maybe one in the front of the tank a day, and the past two days none. I am going to go down to the aurora LFS and pick up a couple of horned, and one zebra on Thursday :) I am going to stock myself up with some algae wafers too to put in front of them. I think the Cherry's were eating all of the algae flake food I was putting in the tank.
How about stuck in your driftwood? One of my Assassin Snails got stuck in a crevasses in the piece of driftwood I had? Or they might be hanging around some sort of plants.

I coldn't find anything for my nerites to eat. I think my shrimp are too busy hogging it all that the nerites don't even bother.
If your water level is filled right to the top my nerites often climb out and i find them on the floor around the outside of the tank. They seem to be able to survive SEVERAL days out of water too, so just toss them back in if you find them. I had one travel about 4 feet across a carpet too, so look underneath furniture, etc.

This ^^ happened to me too. Stuck for a week or 2, I was sure it was gone.
Well, I still never found one other... Who knows why they walk about? Nobody else trying to get out.
