I replied in the other post where this was discussed, but I've thought about it some more. I regularly add the Easy Green fertilizer from Aquarium Co-op to my tanks if the nitrates are at 20 ppm or lower. I have either single strain or cull neos in all of my tanks, and amanos in one of them. I've never noticed any problems with either species.
