How compatible are the two type of fish if the neon tetra is some what baby sized while my discus are large large adults?

Hmm how big is the tank? How many discus? How small of baby size are you talking, more fry size or juvie size? and How heavily planted?

i think your tetras will become dinner for the discus.

If the neons are mature-sixed (around 1" or more), there should not be a problem.
However, Neons have a tough time with discus temps, and don't generally do well.
Go instead with larger Cardinal Tetras - they're much better as discus tankmates.

The tank has been set up for quite some time and the fish seems docile and not dashing around nor fighting, so far no injury observed.

Neon tetra can't stand the discus' required warm temperature.
You should get cardinal tetra instead, or rummy nose tetra.
