My understanding is the spectrum of the blue light emitted by the LEDs in the fixtures you're inquiring about is much more appropriate for a saltwater/reef-style tank than it is for a freshwater planted aquarium. Therefore, if you're interested in trying one of the new Marineland LED-containing fixtures for the latter type of tank, one of its "Double Bright" fixtures would be more suitable than the new Marineland LED fixtures designed for reef tanks.Hmm, yeah, you're probably right. I guess I better go a tried and true approach before I throw away cash...
