bolbitis heudelotii

I moved a few weeks back and because of that move my plants too a huge hit. Not dead by no means but all older foliage is slowly dying.

I was to cut it all back to allow for new growth obviously not destroying the plants big rhizomes.

Anyone done this before? Will it be okay to do so? Will the new growth only start at the end of the existing rhizomes or can new leaves start mid span?

Any advice is greatly appreciated

Here are some pictures for reference

Just realized the pictures make it look not as bad as it is. Anyhow, advice would be great.

If the leaves are in bad shape cut them all out. It's even advantageous to cut out some healthy looking leaves to get new growth going. New leaves will form in all areas of rhizome.
Alright sounds like a good plan to me. I want to strip them back to pretty much just the rhizomes and let it start over.
