Need Opinions on Some Changes to my Scape.

Hey everyone here is a 10 gallon I set up a while back and had originally wanted to set up quickly and put some puffers in... 3 months later and I'm still critiquing the scape and there's no fish LOL.

Anyway. A lot has changed. The tank is dirted and has co2 which is why there's crazy growth on the plants and why there's some algae. It's from the co2 as I have never learned to use co2 before. NOT from the dirt. Anyway. I originally wanted a ball of anubis where the two wood pieces meet, (it's the clump where there's hydrocotle tripartita and anubis all in that area on wood). I don't really like how it looks and the hydrocotle is growing way too out of control and I end up throwing lots of it out. I wish I had a specific 50 gallon for plants only because this 10 gallon creates so many plants I don't know what to do with them, I have tanks I just let them float in until I set up my outdoor tubs.

Anyway. What I'm thinking of doing and I need your guys advice, is pulling the anubias, pulling the HT Japan, and the dwarf sag, putting more DHG so I get a nice full carpet in half the tank of DHG. I will put a moss where the two pieces of wood connect. There needs to be something there. I don't know if I should use willow moss like I already have on the center of the wood, or if I should use fissidens fontanus moss. Opinions? Here is the scape currently.

I am for sure taking out the anubias. The dwarf sag most likely it is growing way too fast.

Not answering your question yet; but ive never seen any of your tanks cooledwhip and this looks ok :) AS for your scape, I think that in this tank you could/should remove the plant in the front left of the tank (sag?) let your DHG spread across the whole front of the scape, remove the anubias, what I think is java fern, the plant in the front right middle, and trim half way down the tank in a 2 sphere shape the pearlweed. Trim back the Hydrocotle, until the DHG spreads out thick, then let it sag above it.
---- equals trim .... X equals remove

Thanks yeah this is a massive mess I was considering not even posting a picture... I haven't trimmed in a while obviously, uneven growth because I have nets growing above the plants. Random plant stems mixed in everywhere. Random moss mats floating. Hence why I need to set up my plant ponds outside.

The hydrocotle is a nice plant to have in this tank and would look nice going throughout the tanks but it's not really a good highlight plant. The plant only looks good in a huge bunch if you let it grow out, if you just have a few stems it looks super out of place...

It makes me mad because the plant is super nice. I want to just get a 10 gallon and let it carpet out.

I just did it on windows paint lol. and personally yours is better lol.
god my OCD is so bad... after responding to you I went downstairs to my breeder tanks and took down one of my fry raising tanks, I'm dirting it and i'm going to set it up as a LIGHT co2 setup and do like 1 or 2 of a single plant species... I'm thinking hydrocotle, maybe crypt parva, AR mini, pearlweed?? no idea.. I'll send pics of the hardscape prob tomorrow.

I know this isn't topic related but you should totally make a journal, ever since fishlore (?) I have been wanting to see a complete journal of your tanks! Plus you do a lot of work on them which is amazing, so people such as me could totally benefit from seeing and learning about what you do and how you do it.

I think it was fishforums. I am on fishlore (for a bit, I just asked a few questions I couldn't get answers to here to see if anyone had different opinions). What do you mean journals? Like just document any changes, updates, etc? I'm super busy with school, maybe I'll make video journals.

Alright I'll work on a journal for ALL my tanks. an accumlative journal. as for the new 10 gallon I'm working on i'll post pics of hardscape later tonight prob.

A journal ya' know on the forum here. Most people have one, take pics every once in a while and such. Fishforums was horrible :l I got banned for copyright, I asked what I copyrighted, got no reply smh
Alright here's a small update on the tank. here is the hardscape. the piece on the left Im keeping for sure, the piece on the right idk if I should keep or if I should orient in a different position.

thoughts?

I think from a front on perspective it looks good as is. Nice job, what plants do you have in mind for that tank?

the new 10 gallon? I wanna first get hardscape out of way first.

are you sure the peice of wood on the right looks okay? I could just take out the second piece completely. actually then it will look uneven. nvm

plants, pearlweed for sure, japan, crypts, maybe AR mini.

Bump: taking plant suggestions too.

Yeah i've never had that plant but i'll try it. this tank will be no co2 btw.
I stole a piece of wood from one of my fry tanks. I think it fits better than the other piece. there's two orientations, I think it looks better int he 2nd orientation. what do you think?

I have ludwigia arcuata it doesn't grow fast as id like.

do some research on its requirements, I have to trim mine every week 1/2 or so half way down then replant the stems. I think your dosing requirements doesn't meet its needs probably.
I don't even dose I just use my dirt and my co2 and high light and I get crazy growth on every other plant except the ludwigia lol.

what do you do?

I have EI method setup but I only use it on 29 gallon. I have flourish as well but i havent seen noticeable results
