My factory Nano cube light is apparently not putting out the original light that it once was. Replacement bulbs are stupid expensive & would like to upgrade to the LED's. currently, I'm getting some odd purplish hair algae growth on the plants/substrate. No feeding, cleaning or other changes other than the light being turned on/off. (on for < 5 hours/day)
I want to switch over to a LED that is bright enough to support plant growth and cheaper/cooler to run. Any ideas out there? I've search all over the net and have found "retro" kits, but really thinking of getting rid of the hood & building the top of the tank up for a ceiling hung LED light.. All ideas/inputs are welcome.
Thanks,
