I have one in my tank for about a wk now but havent noticed any progress. It came with two small roots that i are touching the water. I dont want to submerge the potato any further because i heard doing so will cause it to rot. Am i doing it all wrong? Any potato head on this board :😛

Give it time. If you're super concerned, maybe consider submerging the potato a little bit so the roots have full contact with the water, and then as they grow you can lift the potato out of the water.

could be. but even with Pothos which I propogate/grow in my tanks will take up to two weeks to show the beginnings of roots. Not always but it's not uncommon.

Give it some more time before calling it a dud.
