Hi there, my lfs has got something other than nannostomus beckfordi but they are unsure of the ID. It would be grateful if someone could identify the species for me, I’m suspecting it’s unifasciatus. Thank you.

I have 7 of these. They should be called nannostomus eques. Also sometimes called brown pencilfish

thank you! I suspected they were nannostomus eques but the shop owner said they weren’t. I guess he’s wrong then

they tend to like to swim in a vertical position. If you see that, it’s very likely they are nannostomus eques
