I received this fish with some ghost shrimp feeders. This fish is too large for the eels to eat so I imagine it will survive in the tank. Anyone happen to know what it is?

When I was at my LFS yesterday, I saw a fish similar to that. It looks like some species of Pencilfish. Probably the Threelined Pencilfish but the mouth doesn't look as pointy.

i got the same kind of fish,that the lfs said it was a SAE.i asked here what kind of fish it was but i dont think no one came to a conclusion on what type of fish it was

I doubt it would be a SAE since my LFS had it in the back with the feeders. I'm thinking it is some kind of minnow, but not sure which one.

What fish was it mixed in with? And how big is it?

Looks a lot like a Killie... wasn't it you who had some WC killies a while back?

i didnt say it WAS a SAE,i was just saying that my LFS said it was...but i know its not a SAE

Definitely not SAE. Not a Nannostomus species either, I believe they all have a forked caudal fin. Interesting looking little fish though.

What fish was it mixed in with? And how big is it?

It was mixed in with some ghost shrimp feeders. Once in a while I get feeder guppies or endlers with my ghost shrimp feeders. This is the first time I got this fish though.

Looks a lot like a Killie... wasn't it you who had some WC killies a while back?

I did have some killis last year, but they were bred by another member.
