I have a 12gal tank (19"x12"x12") and it comes with 2X20W lights, I'm planning of having the following in it:

plants:
- Glossostigma as carpet plant
- Giant hairgrass
- Tonina

fish:
- 2 blue rams
- 2 cories
- 10 cardinal tetras

Is that set up possible with the space and lighting available? I will have CO2 and fertilizers.

You might have trouble keeping the glosso low with that amount of light. Tonina is hard to grow for me, I've never been able to keep it alive longer than a week or two. I would go with the rams or the corys, they both inhabit the lower portion of the tank and the rams might not like having the corys around. If you go with the corys get four or five, they like to be in groups.

Thanks! What if I use dwarf hairgrass instead of glosso? What would I neeed to maintain it?

Also I wanted cories to take care of food sitting at the bottom and/or algae, are there other fish that would take care of this without bothering rams?

BTW, the lights are fluorescent compact lights.
