Here is my 5 gallon fluval chi tank I recently got. Do you guys have any ideas on substrate, plants, equipment etc. that I should use on this tank? Replies much appreciated. Thanks guys!

Anything is possible. What do you like? If this is your first tank, anacharis and 2 male platies. I like platies. A few snails for a clean up crew and off the races. You can figure out how much you like the hobby and expand from there. You'll also need a light. Desk lamp with a CFL works.

A piece of wood or rock when you are feeling artistic will make the tank visually appealing. Look in the gallery for some ideas. But settle on 1 idea. Is this a fish tank with plants? A plant tank with fish? Or an artistic endeavor? All have their places.
