I have a 120G high tech tank (12 x 32 watt t8s, compressed co2) with
no fish but heavily planted. It already has a cladophora problem. gH 5,
kH 3 pH 7.4 or so.

Starting tomorrow I will be away 8 days. For reasons worthy of a separate
thread the CO2 won't start up each day when the lights come on unless I
personally fiddle with the needle valve. I have not set up an autodoser yet.

So for eight days this tank will not have ferts or co2. What is the best
thing to do to avoid algae while I am gone?

Thanks,
Rod

I agree, cut the photo period down (4-5 hours of light should be enough), remove a few bulbs to cut the light down, and just be prepared to do some clean-up when you get back. Things hopefully shouldn't get too out of hand before then. Hope this helps.
