I was visiting ebay and I noticed Takashi's book, "Nature Aquarium World" was going for ~$140. Is this book out of print? Why is it going for so much?

Yes, I believe it's out of print. There aren't many copies still floating around out there, so if you see it for a decent price, I'd snatch it up. If you're part of a local aquarium club, you can sometimes find it for a good price there (like I did :biggrin

Pretty sure an LFS around here has a copy of this. I'll have to find out how much they have it going for!

On most all of those sites the book has been discontinued. The cheapest I see it anywhere is $45, and most other places have it for over $100. This is just Book 1, by the way. 2 and 3 are generally a bit cheaper, but not by much.

Amazon had a big sale a while back; I was lucky enough to pick up books 1 and 3 for (the equivalent) of 28 USD. I picked up book 2 at my LFS for the same price as well.
