I have a piece of driftwood I wish to use as the center piece of my nano tank. I was wondering if I could use both an anubias petite and some moss on the same piece of driftwoon, or would the moss overwhelm the petite?

Depending on the type of moss, but beings most are slow growing, periodic use of scissors will keep the moss from being unruly :)

+1 very infrequent trimming of the moss will keep it in check, its not that fast growing. You can ty to get "mini" mosses or fissidens as a more compact option that will take even longer to try to grow over the petite.

Moss and anubias nana petite can be tied on the same driftwood...but not in a same place. As moss will likely cover the rhizome of the petite once growing without trimming.
Another idea is moss on driftwood and anubias tie on rocks and go around the base of the driftwood.
