Just not having a suction cup makes the clip-n sleeker! The longer tube of air will make its reaction time longer though. If you could place the clip-n DC in a place with better water movement that could make it work as well as the nano.

I agree, the clip-n is technically larger size 3.5cm x 5cm but I think that's for the entire piece & I like that it hangs outside the tank itself.

Thanks for the info... I didn't think about the longer tube affecting it's workings. That's good to know. Would a good place be next to the intake lily, opposite side of the tank from the diffuser? like this:

If I could do it again, I would pick the clip on one - put it above your diffuser to find your 30ppm once you have your BPS down - relocate the drop-checker to furthest point of diffuser to see if your getting sufficient amount of Co2. I could see tweaking your lily's to get the circulation of the tank alot better with the clip-on compared to the suction cup.

The suction cup does stick out a bit inside the tank (my betta likes to lay on it) but it's kind-of a bugger to clean just because of popping off that suction-cup. Also cleaning around it is kind-of a pain too.

If you got glass lily's and a nice looking diffuser, definitely pick up the clip-on (just more sexy in my honest opinion)

Thanks Vermino, I'm definitely leaning towards the clip-n. How should I reconfigure the lilys?

I don't own any lily's yet (still using a HOB) but every tank would be different with their setup(IE: tank and hardscape setup). But your updated layout looks pretty standard as what most tanks would do.

thanks, Vermino. This will be my first tank with a canister filter and lily's. It will be interesting to see how it compares, functionally. I definitely love the look.

I've got cheap $5 ebay glass drop checkers, plastic ones, DIY, and even expensive ADA glassware.
My experience shows they are all nearly identical in function, however, you pay for clean aesthetics.

I have the clip on checker and I have a major gripe with it. When in use, you can't fill the water up completely to the brim. The surface tension of water grips the checker and starts to use the checker as an overflow.

Thank you for posting this! I always wondered if this would happen!
My clip on light often starts a siphon too, it's no fun. :icon_roll

Do you have the one with the nub?

I believe I'd be keeping my water level about 1/4" -1/2" below the top. I'm looking at using the clip-n that comes without the nub... would you think this would still cause a siphon effect?

bitFULL, this is my first tank to have any type of lilys and to use a canister type instead of hob or bio-wheel filtration. I'm super excited about the clean look!
