Will my dwarf hair grass take over this?

Hair grass might take over. If it is pygmy chain sword, expect it to grow at the same rate as most echinodorus. I believe hair grass grows a bit faster. Good luck with it. It's an interesting plant when grown in a shallow aquarium. Planted in water deeper than 16 inches it tends to grow slow and is prone to algae growth in low light. At least that has been my experience.
