This is my latest vivarium I've built. It's meant to be a temporary thing, and will be torn down this summer. Going to house one of my crested geckos until then, though.
It was built with a false bottom, using lava rocks instead of the LECA that's so popular (lava rocks work just as good, in my experience, and are a HECK of a lot cheaper & easier to get), covered with vinyl screen. The substrate is a mixture of organic topsoil, peat humus, and sand. I'm going to coat it in some bed-a-beast for now, and as soon as the snow melts a bit outside, I'm going to get some moss to completely cover everything brown. I'm also working on setting up a dripper right now, and I'm going to use it to keep Java moss moist, so it'll grow out of the water. Planning on draping it down the back wall, so that the wall will hopefully completely fill in with moss at some point. So, it's a little bare right now, but, it'll fill in with time.
