Hey all this is my first Nano planted tank since I couldn't set up my 20L. I believe this is a 1.2-1.5 gal tank, with aqua soil with some home made fertilizer I got from a member on the forum.

Plants: Anubias Petite, needle leaf java fern with small mini driftwood, seiryu stones.

Fish: 1 Dario Dario Male and 1 Dario Dario Female. (Scarlet Badis)

What are you feeding your Badis?
Grindal worms.. and blood worms once a week. But looking to get microworms for them.

Bump:
It looks like a 2.5 gallon, which believe it or not is a fairly standard sized tank.
Oh okay. Really? 2.5 gallon? Hmm I guess that could be right. I actually got this from a friend. So he too had no idea how big the tank size is.

Poor fish... That tank is too small for fish, stick to shrimp.
Actually it's not too small. I'm assuming you have never kept them :) they measure 0.47" - 0.78" that is in inches. :) 1.5-2.5 gallon is sufficient for only 2 fishes that size. :)

Bump:
That looks pretty nice! How about some milkshake-method moss painted on the shrimp hidey-holes?

volume (gal) = (L*W*D)/231, measured in inches.
I didn't think of that. I will give that a try. I do plan on getting a co2 going once I save up enough and dose as well.

A quick google search shows that they can grow to 1". Also suggest a minimum tank size of 10g. Your not even half of what's recommended...

But hey thats just me, maybe I care too much for fish more than most, and feel that they should have lots of room to swim.

There are sites where you can input the dimensions to figure out the tank water volume.

Like these sites (2nd link has more precise actual water volume)
Calculating Aquarium Volume - The First Tank Guide - How Can I Figure Out How Much Water My Fish Tank Holds?
Tank Volume Calculator (select rectangular)

I've never been a fan of fish in small tanks either, but at least this one is nearly as small as others I have seen.

By the way, if you planned on keeping shrimps together with them, know that Dario/Badis are known pretty skilled shrimp hunters (not sure if they harm adults as well).

I have kept Darios for sometime... and a few types. Yes they can grow up to 1" sure. It's a 2.5 gallon.. that is planted.. Sure I can keep only 2 of them in a 10 gallon.. At the end of the day, you're not the only who cares for fish. If we all could.. we would own a backyard 20 feet deep pond. But thank you anyway for your input.

This batch actually almost .7" I zoomed in with the camera. But they will be put into a larger tank soon. I have them there because thats the only cycled tank I had because my 8 gallon cracked. As for the shrimps I know. I have ghost shrimps in there and fire reds. Ghost are for feeding and fires they don't go after because they're almost the same size as the darios lol.

So are you saying the biggest tank you can have is a 2.5g?

Not sure where your going with that statement... Either way, I don't feel that any fish should be kept in something that small. Just my opinion, do with it as you see fit.

I don't think you read what I wrote correctly. The current and only tank I have at the moment is a 2.5 gallon. For now the ONLY cycled properly tank I have.. so I would rather have them in a properly cycled 2.5 then put them in a 10+ what amount gallon tank and let them die. They recommend a 10 gallon tank because males can get aggressive and territorial. Lucky for me I have 1 male 1 female.. who yet have to show both.
