Hi,
Gravel has zero nutrients for plants :icon_ques
Maybe some root tabs and or a light water column fertilization ie. a smidge of trace mineral and potassium would help, the amount of light you have plays a role in what and how much to dose.
Keep reading the forum, a little more homework on your part is needed for the plants to thrive.

The plant in the bottom picture looks like it has laid eggs...:flick:
i tied the anubiad on the river rock....

i add flourish every other day...

you think root tabs would be best?
get some ferts from rex or watson
i thought the anubias was supposed to be a low light plant along with the crypts

i think ill try the root tabs before i try ferts.?.?.
If you add a little Flourish Comprehensive then that is good, a little potassium/K+ would also be very beneficial.

EDIT: the anubias and crypts are low light plants, but they still need some nutrients.
Hi metfan,
Are these plants relatively new additions to your tank? Sometimes it just takes a while for them to get settled in. Give them some time before you start messing with your dosing schedule. I also don't see any fish in the picture- what's your bioload like?

The root tabs will help your vals (or are they swords?) and your crypts.
Flourish by itself has almost no macronutrients. So ot's like a human living off water and vitamins. Doesn't work well.
Flourish is trace, you will need a source for nitrogen, potassium, and carbon. Seachem makes other Flourish products that provide the macros.

Yep yep!! the crypts and swords especially. Some root tabs will definetly get the ball rolling and help them along. Don't be surprised if these plants melt down even worse. Just leave them be and keep a normal light and fert routing (and of course w/c's).

These plants hate to be moved around, so make sure you got them where you want them or you could end up starting this whole process all over.
well i just moved the cypts and the et arround..
ill give them a week then
if they arent doing good
ill look into root tabs
then ferts?
