DONT BUY IT ....CHECK PROS AND CONS ...so my new fx6 just came yesterday...it's the new model updated and have the free vaccum # supposedly lol....check my reviews....

fx6 could be called fx8 lol .. there is 3 trays each have 2 filtration system.. sponge and basket to load ya own ... fx8 for me because the 2 top trays have 2 baskets instead 1 .. so 2 more systems on my view ....free vaccum it's tricky.. pay attention on that ...
there is no FREE vaccum inside the box only a promo code.. you need to go on fluval .com to order 1 online ... 12.99 shipping + but you need to get the filter for the vacuum 12.99 fine 15.99 ultrafine .. making minimum to spend 25$ in that order of FREE VACCUM....

Pros....

# massive water flow with dual jet outtakes..
# huge intake
# external pump
# drain output ...
# amazing basket system.. Tons of media
# excellent filtration

cons...

# there is a annoying water leaking sound non stop....pump it's noiseless...it comes from the top filter cover .. Like water it's dripping from the hood to the first media basket .. Terrible design.. The should be flat with the water .. Or something.... Biggest fail....i have 2 305 that makes no noise and it's running non stop and didn't brake for 6 years straight......

# impossible to move around loaded.. And it's a huge filter .. Had problems to fit underneath of a 90 gallons stand ... Once it's in loaded forget about to moved out and work with that ..in my case i must empty losing all my live bio system ... Crazy .....

# the hooks for the fishtank walls to hold the intake and outtake it's super tight so tight that i can't use the back rubber guys ... 305 had no problems....

# super expensive

# no control flow

# no uv lights as option...

# new lock system might be a fail also ... I tight them last night as stuck.. in the morning i tighten them again with my hands that's how lose they were ....

# big chance to return the product...

# Just started to bubble like crazy.. Non stop .. And i can't fix .. Like air trapped inside ...

Thanks for the review! Now I know not to try one of those.I am exceeding happy and impressed with the new eheim pro 4 250...but I don't want to sound like another eheim fanboy,or hijack your thread here.
# no control flow

.
Does yours not have levers on the hose nozzles to adjust the flow rate?
no does not come with any control only lock water flow to disconnect hoses ... plug n play

So after spoke with the fluval guys .. They told me to mail pictures of my system and issues very nice on the phone and very quick .. But that was all .. Never got any answers back they got scared of my videos i guess lol ...

fx6 Xmas version lol

fx6 Xmas version

...

look like I have an airstone underneath the intake lol...

water leak noise that comes from the top of the filter ...

So today i realized something fx6 have the same problem of the little brothers ... After solved yup can be the top filters ... But it's sucks ...... I do have my own trick and workout for the fx6 too .. But it's a struggling task to do .. Now my fx6 it's running like a beast no noise at all no bubbles at all just as supposed to be ...

So i have an ultra high tech system here i did on my own and i'm opening a from for that today .. Ppl will call me crazy but it's running perfect... A lot of red purple and all types of green ...i have my set up now like this .... 2x fluval 305 bio media n foam 1x fx6 all bio media and foam top baskets purigen and phosguard. 432w system but don't run all at same time peak of 314w .. 3 different spectrums .. With many time presets... As moon light sunset sunrise day moon light and baking sun 314w.. And 1 cp2 just to make an extra flow ... All that on a 90 gallons lol soon will on a 125 g .. No co2 all tank 100% natural.. Just could beat the sun lights lol ...

Fixing your fx6 and other fluval as 305 405 .... ... Fill with water till the top .. Close that put hose back ...

305 405 # turn on lot of bubble now will choke few times# than will choke fill times during the day ... # if not starting use the same process get the filter put on top of a little bucket like a bathroom trash can this around 12 inches... Now tilt the fluval towards the intake so the top air trap leaves from the outtake return to regular position slowly to make sure water keep on same flow and filling the fluval with water till the top lean back works well also ....

Fx6 # huge mf to play with lol do the same ..turn on tilt him towards all side kinda shaking a little . Turn off let the cycle complete # he stated for 2 min stop for 2min than start again .... Do that 2x ... After that mine was working well no noise no air trap noise more .... Tilt hard ...

Fluval filters on my opinion have a problem the top cap don't stay flat with the inside water .. So create a little room for air trap .. .. But i still love them ...i didn't returned the fx6 once i fixed on my own .. But it's frustrating for that type of $ that you spending....

AquaStop Valves

The AquaStop valve makes maintenance easy by allowing you to stop the water flow with an easy 90-degree turn of the valve lever. This means you can separate the hosing from the filter in one step. The valve lever can also be used to regulate water flow with no harm to the motor or its components. Two valves are provided: one for the intake, one for the output.
