Hello everyone am a newbie to this hobby and planned for my first planted tank.

My tank is of 15 gal ( 2 feet by 1 feet by 1 feet as l,b,h)

Substrate is Laterite + Sand

Light is 36W PLL

DIY CO2(Yeast+Sugar)

Is this setup okay? Or any improvements required ? Please advice as am a beginner only

Well with a fifteen gallon it will be simple to control the co2. What are you using for a diffusor? I still use DIY for my 75. Granted I have slightly modified the setup to work well. You will need ferts and/or root tabs to get a good strong start with your plants.

I would suggest you get a little more light tho. 3watts per gallon recc.

Diy CO2 are only good for about a month slowly weakening as time goes on..ie. The first week is the best then the last week not so good..So pending on regularity is on what you are looking for in the end is up to you. It is said that 1 watt per gal for low light plants and 2-3 watts is is better. The more the better pending on what you are going for.

I have not started the setup yet.Thinking of either putting the inlet to power filter or using an airstone. What you say ?

Macro and Micro ferts would be reqd right ?

it would be better if you get a ceramic diffuser or any atomizing diffuser. You can get them cheap in Asia.

What I've dine before to diffuse co2 is drilling a hole into a separate internal filter n shove a co2 hose into it. The propeller will chop the bubble up n it'll diffuse. That way I don't ruin my main filter.
