This is my 50 gallon tank. 48 inches long, 12.5 inches wide and 20 inches tall . I was going to go with all black substrate and all black background but decided to have a little fun first. I may eventually change the backgound to black once i get my plants together and have them grown tall. I started my tank on Feb. 22 2014 and this is my very first attempt of a planted aquarium. I used to have a 29 gal with white sand and had a sword or two but this 50... :icon_wink Lets just say that i spent a large portion of my income tax. I'm pretty sad at how small and premature a lot of my plants were when i ordered them online. Some were fair and I wanted to created a dutch tank but eventually wanted larger rocks and driftwood. I learned a lot from January 2014 til now. Especially off of ADU's, Dustin's and Joey's channel just to name a few favorite. I was more inspired by Mr. ADU than other youtube aquarists as he is very concrete and informative in his videos. Nothing but pure direct information linking to or resolving issues. I've only started researching countless hours this year and literally spent January researching about fish and plants. I bought my tank brand new and hooked it up on Jan. 22 so i would really call Feb. 22 the start of my tank since I'm sure that my tank have completed it's nitrate cycle. For co2 i have a paintball set up and tweak it on when I'm home and found it to be more than enough as i don't leave it on all the time. The one thing that i really enjoy the most about this hobby is planting in the plants and seeing the growth of it after melting. My layout (driftwood, ying stones and leveling) right now will not change anytime soon because this is what i forsaw before setting it up. I want to see how it will look like at it's best first before rearranging or removing stuff. Stay tuned as i will update when i propagate and get my tank more green.
