Last night, right after a water change, my pair of Bolivian Rams I have in a 20 Long laid eggs for their first time (I think about 100-150) so I'm excited but at the same time I'm freaking out because I didn't expect them to breed so quickly and at such a small size (I got them two weeks ago and they're under two inches long) Right now I have them in a 20 Long with three other small B. Rams (I'm gonna try to find a new home for them now that I have a pair)
The female won't let the male help her protect the eggs even though I thought they shared the responsibility. Should I be worried?
Also, I want to raise the fry to adulthood but since I wasn't expecting them to breed so quickly I don't have a fry tank. All I have is a 2.5 gallon tank where I have tons of MTS snails but no filter, only Rotala Indica and Christmas Moss, or I could put them in a 5 gallon tank with no plants but that has a filter, I guess I could run down to the LFS and get a 10 Gallon tank and put them in there, I could get Beneficial Bacteria but would that be enough to cycle it to the Ram frys' needs? Which of these options would be best?
