I have some algae that appears to be BGA on some plants and it's releasing all sorts of oxygen bubbles from the leaves that it's growing on. From what I understand it's actually bacteria that can go photosynthesis. It's only on the old stunted parts of my Rotala before I got my co2 and higher light running. The new growth on the Rotala is now pinkish/red and looking great and no algae is able to compete with the new parts of it.

So my question is...do I need to dip the plants and replant or just wait until the new growth on the Rotala tops get big enough to cut off and replant and just toss out the old growth part of the stem that's being taken to school by this algae?

Well this is the first that I've seen this. Pretty cool when you think about it. Any chance that it could be catching air bubbles from an aerator or from the water from your filter entering the water (hob?)
I wish that were the case. If you watch it here in person, you can see the bubbles form and then float away repeatedly. I whipped out the scissors and trimmed a lot of those leafs off. Figured that'd be okay since it's a stem plant. I added a powerhead to help my tank have circulation now (almost non existent before). Going to see what happens now. I def don't have low nitrates so I'm going off the theory of dead spots since I am dosing Flourish and soon to add separate doses of Fe & K. On top of that going to continue doing my weekly water changes with distilled water...hoping that using that vs. tap water isn't part of my issue. :icon_conf
