Multiple Paternity in Caridina ensifera var. blue

How great it would be to receive funding to study shrimp. In this study, researchers analyzed molecular genetics of wild-caught Caridina ensifera var. blue (Blue Leg Poso) from Lake Matano, Sulawesi, Indonesia to determine if multiple paternity was present among offspring of the same mother. I'm sure some other shrimp (at least in Caridina) have eggs fertilized by multiple fathers as well.
I guess pairing only 1 male and female could pay off if you were looking for a very specific trait the male had.

Probably correct - I've observed multiple males trying to mount a single female among my CRS and Super Tiger tanks, perhaps each fertilizing/placing sperm as they do.
