MTS all going to top of tank in multiple tanks!

They seem to migrate together at times. do everyone elses do this? It's so weird I noticed they were all going to the top of one of my tanks, I checked the other 2 and they were all going up in those tanks.

Why do the snails go to the way top anyways, do they need air every once and awhile?

Usually an indicator that the water is not agreeable with them. If I see that behavior I test my water immediately.
I have also noticed this, but In even the cleanest of tanks. and yet have not noticed it in other dirty or neglected tanks, or even colder brackish tanks. Its hard to say if bad water is the official reason for the MTS migration.
mines do that when I turn off the lights. Then they come to the top. Until I introduced them to a dwarf puffer

I've noticed snails coming to the surface of my tanks as well, thinking it may of had something to do with transportation using the water currents. Just looked at the anatomy of a common pond snail, expecting to find some sort of "chambers" like a nautilus, but to no avail....there goes that theory:hihi:

Yep. If your water's ok then I would think this is what they're doing. Mine do it at night like the Good Doctor's. Water has always tested out fine.
Maybe they just like to have races to the top for fun. READY GO!
The only time mine ever do it in the daytime is when I drop an algae wafer in. They are looking for it and the smell must be strongest in the current because they climb up right in front of the filter outflow.
HMM... mine generally race when im adding food as well. I think you are onto something!

I did indeed feed algae wafers in all 3 of my tanks last night, and I hadn't done it in several days. hmmmm :)
Mine also flock to the food when i throw in wafers. they also climb to the top when I introduced 6 Assassin snails! How did they know?
