Moving shrimp temporarily

590 Views 3 Replies 3 Participants Last post by  Yukiharu
How do I do that without losing any? I don't have much as I just started and received them 2 weeks ago. But my snail problem just keeps getting worst and I'm starting to see tiny little water flea things. Could I put them in a temporary tank with just water and moss ?

Hope for some advice before tomorrow when I get home from work.. I'm using tapatalk so I'm kind of confused how to navigate and search for my answers...

Shouldn't be a problem to move them. I netted all of mine for a salt dip and did not lose any after the stress. Id be extra careful with your decision since you will want to me 100% sure whatever you use on those snails is gone before you put them back in. Might want to buy an assassin snail instead of a chemical route.

Have you tried putting in a piece of zucchini and taking it out when it is full of snails?

I was actually going to house them in a 2 gallon tank for whatever time I needed to rinse the soil and wash the tank and do a whole new cycle... it's just so bad having all these snails, I regret not dipping my plants when I had the chance

If you're doing that long term make sure you keep the filter wet before putting it in their new tank.
Otherwise snails make good shrimp snacks after they're crushed.
