Do you mean a fluidized bed filter? At least one person has a thread on DIY talking about how he made one filled with Purigen - his appears to work very well.

has any one tryed and maked a moving bed filter? and if so what were your thoughts?

I think a fluidizer bed filter is a simular idea but with aa finer media
