I have to move a tank that is heavily planted to another room to make way for some furniture. I need to know the easiest way to do this without breaking it. It has about 250-350 shrimp in there and I would rather not drain the tank completely to prevent shock during refilling. just maybe a third of the water left. Is it possible without breaking it?

I'm sure if it would work but I moved one of my 10g's that was almost full and had no problem. I would say what if empty a third of the water like you said and than slide the tank onto a piece of wood to make it easier to move to another room. That's just my 2 cents.

That's how I always thought I would do it. Empty out as much as possible, slide on to a wood board, move to other room.

Thanks for your help. I moved it without it leaking. I didn't have any wood so I found some furniture sliders and put them under it.

Ok that's nice to hear you had no problems. Did you end up empty out some of the water?
