I'm on a need to watch movies now, and wanted to see if you could recommend me any.

Movies that I have seen and loved the most:
Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind
The Science of Sleep
The Truman Show
Stranger Than Fiction
Seven Samurai
Kung Fu Hustle
Pirates of the Caribbean 1&2

I'll add more as I remember them...

What do you recommend me?!

I enjoy serious movies and comedies. But nothing too sad. Horror movies I hate. Thrillers are fine but not my favorite. Fantasy is great.

Thanks you!

Sky Captain and the World of Tomorrow.
League of Extraordinary Gentlemen.
The Illusionist
Serenity.
300.
Sin City.
The Departed.
The Bourne Identity.
The Bourne Supremacy.
Pans Labyrinth.
X-Men The Last Stand.
Shanghai Noon.
My Cousin Vinny.
Bruce Almighty.
and many more.

I think horror movies are cheap, not a fan.

American History X
Boondock Saints
City of God (exceptionally violent, not for faint of heart)
SLC Punk! (my favorite movie)
300
Pan's Labyrinth (most depressing movie I've ever seen)
V for Vendetta
Cool Hand Luke ("What we have here is....failure to communicate")
The Professional

All are great.

I've seen 300. It was great but not great enough to be on my greatest movies list :-D.
Also saw League of Extraordinary Gentleman. That was awesome. But it had horrible ratings. Wonder why. I guess for a movie it was horribly made. Didn't have set plot I thought. Just the concept of all these heroes into one was awesome lol.

Bruce Almighty was so so. Loved Shanghai Noon.

Ahkuma you like movies with guns don't you :-D. I don't most of the time unless Jackie Chan is in it.

Cool Hand Luke might be worth watching. Pan's Labyrinth seems awesome. That I will definitely watch. Need to see V for Vendetta too. The Illusionist seems cool.

Alright thanks everyone. Anyone else recommend any movies that I might like from the list of movies that I enjoyed? Like the original never before seen kind of movies.

If you liked Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind, you might also enjoy Being John Malkovich or Memento.

The squid and the Whale was good indi film. The little kid in it was hilarious
Crank was pretty action packed. This was on par with Transporter, and a heck of a lot better than Transporter 2 which sucked big time.
Lucky # Slevin another good action flick
Cocaine Cowboys good documentary type
A good year is a nice one to watch with a female companion

You and your links spypet... I've already ransacked rottentomatoes.com. That's how I learned of Dr. Strangelove and The Seven Samurai.

I just enjoy movies that are inspirational. Like Eternal Sunshine, The Truman Show, Stranger Than Fiction. and movies that question reality like The Science of Sleep and Eternal Sunshine sort of does.

Being John Malkovich seems exactly like the movie I'm looking for. That's number one on the list for now. Memento as well. Thanks uncskainch.

Charles Kaufman and Michael Gondry rock!

I loved Dr. Strange Love. We got to watch it in my Compartive World Literature class. We also watched The Point. Its was on TV in the 70's pretty trippy but amusing.

Most of my favorite movies have been mentioned...

Fight club
300 (saw this with a few of my buddies. We where talking about it for quite a while:))
Casino Royale
40 year old virgin (I love Steve Carrol)
Super Troopers
Jack ass 2 (some nasty stuff, but I laughed SOOO hard)

Pretty generic stuff, I tried.:) I can't believe you guys already recomended most of my favorite movies.

I really got into The Office TV show and I watched the second season about 5 times since Christmas. Not a movie but still very entertaining.:)

Clockwork Orange is great if you an stomach it.

Sandiegoryu, I think the film "City of God" might be for you. Number 17 on the IMDB list. It's a Brazilian foreign film, but very well done. I assume subtitles don't bother you. If they do, I hope you speak Portuguese.

The Departed did surprise me. Wasn't expecting to enjoy it but did.

Passion of Christ made even my non believing self walk out of the theater quietly.
