Has anyone ever used moss they found outside? I found some on a dead tree stump out back and was wondering if I could put it in my tank. 20 gallon,diyco2,current nova supreme t5hx2 lights. thanks

ive done it before, a natural moss covered rock...it wont last long tho, like 1.5-2 months before it turns to a poop shade of brown and dies off

No, terrestrial mosses will die underwater. Some people have reported having luck with star moss, but mostly, it just sits there for a month and then rots.

i've pulled moss out of a pond and done fine with it. a few pond snails made their way in my tank with it but my botia histrionica made quick work of them
