Moss myth?

Is it true that when you trim your moss it grows back thicker? thanks :)

In my limited experience, yes it does. I allows light to penetrate deeper to the base (where the moss is attached) stimulating more growth. Trimming also seems to help it spread.

I attached moss to a section of driftwood a while back and did zero trimming. It grew long, though I noticed it wasn't thick and there was dead/brown moss at the base. I started trimming and since it has taking over the entire piece of wood in a thick, grass like mat.

Yes it does. I started with two golf ball size attached to my driftwood. It is now completely taken over the driftwood and I have started to put it in my sump as well.....it's about the size of a basketball in the sump.
