So. I have 6 Amanos. 2 females and 4 males. The males have been chasing the females around literally all day today, trying to mate.

I just saw one of the strangest things I have ever seen. One of the males jumped on one of the females, trying to get all amorous, and she fell over on her side. I thought something was wrong, as she didn't look right, and she molted right there. Literally jumped out of her skin while the male was on her back.

I think I'm not going to watch my shrimp so closely in the future.

did the male correct himself or did he attempt to mate with the shed skin

It must be amano mating season. Mine have been doing the same thing, minus the molting.

LOL! I've seen a bamboo shrimp jump out of its skin too, in the blink of an eye. Amazing.

Watching them molt is fascinating. I saw a CRS do it yesterday too.
