I declare this to be the fastest growing plant...

What are your tank conditions like? Water, of course, light, how much, do you feed anything to those plants?
ill post my parameters once i do the tests but currently im not dosing anything, mainly because i dont know what, how much and when and rex griggs guide just baffled me further:iamwithst
im not running CO2 yet i have to go buy some silicon to seal the bottle.
my lights 36watt t5 no reflector
and im using aquasoil
ammonia 1.5
ph 7.4
no2 0.50
no3 10
I have it growing real well, but kh=3 meaning soft water. high light and it grows well. it'll grow slower in moderate to low light. as long as there is some nitrate and phosphate in the water, you're good to go. don't forget K

Think of it this way. if you have high light, you will need CO2 and ferts,
if you have low light, your plants will use up ferts slower. so that means you can add smaller amount of ferts. and less frequent adding of ferts.

Back to the pelia:
Seems like your tank is still cycling... Normally NH3 and NO2 should be zero. Could be that the "dull and furry" parts are being covered with diatoms or some other algae.

BTW I am growing Pellia just great in hard water (10dkH).
How long has your tank been set up? Maybe not long? Are you familiar with what different algae outbreaks look like? Thinking out loud, it kind of sounds like maybe some of the pellia has diatoms, hair algae or some other kind of algae on it.

Are you putting anything else in the tank besides water, substrate and light? Anything at all, including any kind of dechlorinator, Excel, or even fish food. And are the dull spots shaded any at all relative to the green parts?
Ha! I finally got ninja-ed! :icon_lol: Too fast for me, Wasser. ;)

i havent a clue which algaes diatoms or what have you look like im afraid
im using decholirator, nutrafin aquaplus, and feeding shrimp, hikari crab food 2 pellets every 3 days
the tanks not fully cycled only had plants in since last thursday all have picked up realy well, all except the mosses and the pelia
im not dosing ferts, mainly because i dont know which and how much id need :icon_redf
oh and my substrate is ada amazonia no powersand
and the dull bits appear to be dead... it could be how ive planted it though but i dont know ill try and post up some pictures
Your picture is pretty blurry ~ I can't tell much of anything from it. Can you get a better one? Maybe pull the camera back a bit.

Some algae can make plants look a bit brown, either in places or all over. Here's a link to good pictures of different algaes: Algae ID page. Look at the Brown Algae. Does that kind of look like your brown spots of pellia?

Your plants have only been in there since Thursday? I'd give them a bit more time to recover from being moved. Where did you get them from? If in the mail, were they kept moist the entire time? If from a store, did you bring them home in a bag with water in it? If these dried out at all, that surely could make parts of them die. But don't worry if that's it ~ the rest of the plants will recover and they'll grow back in.

You didn't actually plant it in the substrate, did you? If so, that's probably your problem. Mosses and pellia are just supposed to "sit there" or be tied to something, not planted under the substrate at all.

nooooooooo, i tied the pelia to river cobbles gently with cotton,
im starting to get disheartend with my entire planting thought, my hc and e tennellus wont stay down my hm seems to be dying my mosses are covered in slime and my pelia is driving me mad, i realy need some guidance on maintainance, replanting especialy i sat down to enjoy my tank and it just looks like its dying and i dont know how to turn it around :(

it doesnt look anything like brown algae, at least not to my eyes
