I think I'd like to get some male Mexican mollies and some female white sailfin mollies and breed them. Mexican mollies have orange tummies and tail edgings that I think would look really nice on a white sailfin. Does anyone know if it would be possible to develop a molly strain like that? Maybe breed them and see if any come out with whitish flanks and orange anywhere on them?
I'd use male Mexicans only in order to keep the Mexican strain pure. They're a bit unusual in the trade, and if I used a female in the project, I'd never be able to tell what kind of babies it was going to have.
