Christmas Moss has been in a holding container for more than a week. I noticed there was white stuff growing on the moss? I changed the water in the container but the white mold is still there. Wondering if I should toss it or try to treat it (read about adding salt)? Don't want to introduce it to the tank if there are existing issues.

Try using Excel to kill the fungus, or peroxide. I think it should resolve on its own though if you put the moss in better growing conditions where it can outcompete the fungus. Maybe put it under some more light if you weren't doing so for the holding container.

Salt will kill that, so will most fungus meds
