Hi Everyone,

I've been considering buying this Fluval Premium aquarium kit but the lighting on it is pretty terrible (1x40w bulb for 55 gallons?) Is there any way I could possibly modify/hack the light hood? Any information or links in the right direction would be really helpful. I'm not too savvy when it comes to electronic diy but if there is a solution simple enough I'm up for the challenge!

And accomodate your hood to fit these.... that is my suggestion lol

The product is an end caps and ballast. You'll have to retrofit the hood you want to use it or build one to suit. If you want better lights, might as well just buy eveyrthing seperate and save yourself the modding route if you're not handy.

I just figured it was worth a shot if you like the look of the hood but hate the lights. and its not a very expensive option, but probably costs the same as a new light fixture, when you factor in costs of bulbs and what not.
