I am setting up a new 25 gal planted tank and trying to use up what I have before I buy anything. I have put a 1”-2” layer of black Fluval Stratum in the tank and just found a small bag of Aquasolum Black Humate. Would there be any problems mixing these two products?

No problems, go right ahead. Aesthetically it is purely preference. Some people cap sand over dirt, or sand over gravel.
