Hello everyone,

I have 2 60 gallon tanks that are planted and I am looking for some help to figure out how to mix everything properly.
I'm getting very confused on how much iron I should be mixing for a 500 ml bottle.
I see several different amounts of dry iron chelate to add.

I would like to simplify this and ask the experts for a 500 ml bottle, how much iron chelate (11%) would you mix with water?

Also, should I be using distilled water for mixing ferts?
Would RO be ok?

I usually use the flourish chemicals, but I wanted to try my luck with dry ferts for a change.

I use distilled and you may want to keep it refrigerated to prevent mold.

It doesn't matter whether you use tap water, RO water, or distilled water. You will be adding at most a few ounces of that water to your tank when you fertilize. That can't possibly affect the tank.

Don't use tap water. The high pH and calcium content can affect the Fe chelate in a negative way.

Ok. I mixed with RO water since I have it handy.
Seems to be working ok so far.
