Mixing Ecocomplete

So i've been reading up on substrates for hours now and i feel like my head is going to explode. I was playing around with the idea of doing mineralized top soil but i'm sure i'll move again in less than a year and i feel it could turn out to be a mess. I can get bags of eco complete here in town for under $17 a bag. I kind of want to mix a sand/something finer with it because its too rocky for my liking. would sand or aquasoil powder type be a good option? any suggestions? im just more confused and tired now....

I use straight eco in a few of my tanks. If you add powersand to the mix it will only be better. I aslso highly recommend MTS, even if you have to move, just rinse it and start over.
