Jr. Didn't I tell you to mix little Excel/metricide in the mixture. Milky film will go away once changed.
Everything was fine while only dosing csm and 11% iron. I then added fe gluc and millers to my trace mix and now I get this stringy film. I'll probably add some excel to my trace and see if that helps.I have the same thing despite dosing EI using CSM+B.
Can't be from feeding since I haven't fed the tank in weeks. Just some pond snails in there and i just let them feed off the plant matter.yeah, I am kind of leaning towards feeding habits that add protein in water...... I may be wrong. I am very interested to know too how to prevent the scum from accumulating without sing a surface skimmer.
I never got it in any of my tanks when just using csm and fe. I also never got the mold growth that people talk about, and I make 1-1.5 month supplies. Maybe just lucky pr something. This is the first time I have gptten scum this bad. I don't know if it's the millers and fe gluc or something else. Nothing has changed in this tank except the lighting. I upgraded fixtures but the scum was there beforehand so I'm going to rule that out as a cause.I've been lurking and watching this thread since it posted.
Using CSM+B and Fe I definitely see the surface film try to form after dosing.
No other changes.
