to GitMoe: The substrate in the 10 gallon is Pool Filter Sand I got from a friend that works at a pool supply shop here in town. Can't remember the name of it though. It looks alot like play sand though. It has a different size granules in it which does give it that more natural look.

to Quentin: Thanks, I'm not sure where I could find a more aesthetic pleasing shop lights. I was thinking about just spray painting the fixtures and stand black so it blends better.

Yeah that will be my weekend project.

I just got a bit of concerning news. The PFS I recieved from my friend told me it is indeed just play sand. So now I'm thinking that is why im getting the algea growth on my rocks and on my glass. It's the Silica!!
Its a bit of green and brown with a little hair algea. My hairgrass I think iis suffering from it because the tips are turning brownish and some hair algea is attaching to it.
all my parameters are:
PH: 7.8
Ammo: 0
Nitrites: 0
Nitrates: 0

Well also my lights were on for about 10 hours. So now I knocked it down to about 5 hours.I'll see if this helps.
