Micromatic Regulator

I recently bought this regulator, which came with a hose barb attached. I swear this thing is glued to the regulator. Anyone have any experience on removing it? Tips?

Put the hex head of the barb in a vice if you have one and rotate the regulator.

Or use a crescent wrench or the correct wrench on the bard and put some muscle into it.
One more quick question. Instead of using pipe dope to attach the solenoid/needle valve to the regulator body, can i use l teflon tape?

Yes, I own two Micromatics. As was mentioned, use a vise! I used teflon tape on mine two and both are working fine. By the way, let me know how you like that regulator. There are some pictures under DIY Projects of my regulator builds on my site in my signature.
Teflon tape will work as long as you only get the tape on the threads. You don't want little particles of teflon getting stuck in your solenoid. Non-hardening pipe dope works great for a regulator build.

Like everyone else says, use a vice. If you don't have one, a crescent wrench or combo wrench used with a breaker bar also works. It's a bit harder to do yourself so just ask someone over for a beer and make them earn their drink. Lol.
