I have 3 bunches of micro swords, and I was wondering if it would do any harm to split the bunches up and re-plant them, or should I leave them bunched together ? And, if you can split them up, what would be the best way to do it?

Go ahead and split them up, this is the best way to plant Micro sword.
Make 3-4 little bunches out of it by gently pulling them apart.

When I got mine, it came in a half square foot. It gently teased apart the roots and planted them in a checkerboard pattern. It grew in rather quickly that way, and then soon took over my tank with runners! I really like it though, as it seems to grow well for me, even in a 1 wpg tank. Not as fast with low light, mind you, but it still grew and put out runners. In high light with co2, you might find that it's invasive, but not to an extreme. It's pretty easy to maintain, IME.
