Mexican molly boys have blue tinting along their sides, orange throats/stomachs, and orange edging to their fins. Those details would look very nice on a white sailfin molly. Would it be possible to crossbreed those two molly varieties to get a white sailfin molly with the Mexican molly's markings?

I am not sure how the genetics works for the coloring. Usually male sailfins of all colors have blue and orange. I had an orange sailfin with blue and have a black sailfin with orange and blue. Why not try and see what happens?

It depends on dominant traits?

Have you seen a wild sailfin? No need to breed to get those markings.

Wild sailfins are quite nice, but Mexican mollies have more orange, and I haven't yet seen those markings on a pure white sailfin.
