MEIZHI lighting?

Hi there!

I'd picked up one of these lights from Amazon for my wife to grow seedlings for her garden. When I tested the thing, it is intense. Unfortunately, as it's a Chinese retail-only brand (with no website) the only data I have available for it is the data that's on the Amazon page, which claims:

LED: 120° Epistar
PAR: 779 μmol
Lumens: ~11,595 Lm
Spectra: 450~475nm, 620~630nm, and white [the latter of which isn't a spectrum so that's a bit confusing to me]
Power: 1.8A @ 110VAC

Any thoughts on using this system over my tanks for growing aquarium plants?

lol it's 11k lumens which means it's brighter than the sun... idk you could try putting it over an aquarium but I think you might get massive algae issues. Also, the nm refers to the "color" of the LEDs

I'm aware that the nanometer wavelengths refers to 'color', however 'white' is not a spectrum and cannot be represented by a single wavelength (as it is an interpretation of multiple wavelengths by your eye) so it's odd that they'd list 'white', as any 'white' LED itself would be emitting multiple wavelengths.

But, yes, it is very bright. I haven't tried bringing it outside to see if I can see it against daylight (which at 11KLm I should) but I wouldn't doubt it. I wouldn't hang it directly above the tanks, obviously. That would be overkill and would likely kill my plants. One light a few feet above multiple tanks.
