Adding american cichlids to mbuna tanks is not usually advised due to the differing behavioral requirements of these animals. Often, unless the tank is quite large, someone gets beaten up - the convicts when not breeding, and everyone else when they do breed.
Speaking of tank size, a 25 gallon tank with 10+ apparently non-dwarf mbuna is way overstocked. Even without the convicts, I think you need to upgrade to a 55 gallon or other 4 foot plus tank very soon, or else when they hit sexual maturity the mbuna will probably start tearing each other apart due to lack of room to flee from each other.
