Matheson Regulator

Hello all!

I just scored a Matheson 8-590 for $40.00. Does anybody know whether this model requires the fine thread CGA stem?

Remove the CGA stem, and remove the valve with the black knob from the outlet. If the valve with the black knob screws into the inlet where the CGA stem currently is, it's 1/4" NPT. If not, it's 1/2-27.

The outlet, and threads for the gauges, are all 1/4" NPT.

Once you get it off.. pretty easy to tell.. ;)
Straight threads and it seals via the rear rounded mating surface..
Tape or thread dope is a bit unnecessary but must be put back quite tight..

That is how I see it. Wouldn't mind a comment or 2 on that though..
