so if the WPG "rule" is calculated for T8/T12 (cant remember) what doses T5 do? Another forum stated 1 watt T5 = 2 WPG. is that even close:icon_ques

I would say that depends. Is it T5 NO (normal output) or T5 HO (high output)? For T5 HO, that's probably a good rough estimate. I don't have any experience with T5 NO, so no clue if it's a good guesstimate for that type of light (my guess is probably not).

Depends on the fixture, too. Individual, highly polished reflectors can make a HUGE difference on light output.

In general, based on my own experience, I'd say T5NO is about 1.5x the light, and T5HO is 2x the light from comparable CF and/or T8 fixtures.
